Reliance Jio has launched JioPhone 2 at an affordable price – Rs.2999 only from August 15. In a major announcement on 05.07.18 at Mumbai, Mukesh Ambani has launched new JIO phone. This deal is called “JioPhone Monsoon Offer“. You can exchange the old jio phone with a new JioPhone by paying only Rs.501. This is a great deal for existing old JioPhone user. They can upgrade their phone at an affordable price.

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has launched this offer on 41st Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 5th July 2018. Jio’s new “Monsoon Hungama offer” Will be started from July 21.

JioPhone 2 is a new and advanced version phone. JioPhone 2 comes with some advanced features. The most powerful apps like YouTube, Whatsapp and Facebook will be there.

“We have more than 25 million JioPhone users in India. We are now taking the JioPhone to the next level, with added capabilities and functionalities” — said RIL’s Chairman & Managing Director Mukesh D Ambani at the meeting in Mumbai.

The phone has 512 MB of RAM and 8 GB of ROM. It has has a micro SD slot to expand the memory up to 128 GB. Jio phone has 2.4 QVGA display and 2-megapixel rear camera and VGA front camera. Now the interesting part is that it has two sim card slot. It closely resembles the earlier Blackberry phones. The phone has FM-Radio, WI-FI, NFC connectivity. It has a 2000 MAh battery. It looks like old BlackBerry phones with QWERTY keypad.

At the time of launching the phone, Mukesh Ambani said, “Today, we are launching a brand new JioPhone scheme, JioPhone Monsoon Hungama”. Under this offer, by exchanging your old feature phone, you can get a brand new JioPhone for an effective entry price of just Rs. 501”.

Apart from JioPhone 2 company introduces GigaFiber that will give you high-speed Internet with fiber cable.

In this meeting, Mukesh Ambani also said: “The Company has already invested more than 250 million dollars in the industry. We will now extend the service to 1100 cities to offer the most advanced fibre-based broadband services. This will mean a faster internet experience. A virtual reality experience for all citizens where you can control switches in your house from outside as well. This will redefine 24×7 emergency help for all homes across India. We are calling this the Jio GigaFibre.”

Jio is the biggest challenge for other Telecom operators to cope up with the situation.
